Guardiola returns to the Nou Camp
By Laolu Olugbenga
It will certainly be a game to watch when Barcelona lock horns with German champions Bayern Munich at the Nou Camp. The Catalans are in a rich vein of form with the trio of Messi, Neymar and Suarez firing for the Catalans in recent weeks. They come into the game on the back of an 8-0 demolition of Cordoba, a game where Messi also ‘donated’ a penalty to his gangling team mate, Neymar.
They have also been solid at the back, keeping about 19 La Liga clean sheets, the most since Victor Valdes was at the club. They don’t have fond memories against Bayern though, having been at the end of a severe 7 - 0 aggregate thrashing back in 2013. To make matters worse, their former manager in Pep Guardiola is the man bringing the Bavarians to town. Bayern have had a host of injuries, with Arjen Robben being ruled out for the rest of the season. Robert Lewandowski could feature in a mask after breaking his jaw and nose against Dortmund.
Bayern were beaten 2 - 0 by Bayer Leverkusen at the weekend, but it is not likely to halt their Champions League momentum. For Guardiola, it will be an emotional return to the side he won countless trophies with, but he also hopes to get one over his former employers.
