Gunners aim to educate Reading

Arsenal will be eyeing a second consecutive FA Cup final appearance when they take on Reading at Wembley this evening. The Gunners beat Manchester United in the quarter final to secure their progression to the Semis, and currently boast of an 8-game winning run. On current form, Wenger’s boys should have a field day, gunning down any Reading folk on sight. But the Emirates’ warlords should not take anything for granted. Having come this far, it may be a costly misread to think that the opposition will be an easy meat. But the Reading have never had a good outing against the Gunners. During their brief appearance in the 2012/13 Premiership season, they were no match for Wengers’ soldiers.
Nevertheless, it will be a tough fixture for Reading whose fairytale run continued with a 3-0 thrashing of Bradford City in a replay. Their form in the Championship has not been quite encouraging as they lie in 18th place. Going all the way to lift the trophy will mean the world to the Madjeski faithful, who have a lot of confidence in their team.
Should Arsenal, however, go on to lift the crown, they will become the competition’s record winners. Arsene Wenger has confirmed he has a strong squad to choose from, and has said that ‘keeper Wojciech Szczenzy will start in goal ahead of Davis Ospina, the man who pushed down to the second place.
It should be an exciting encounter at the England’s Mecca of Soccer as the Wembley Stadium is otherwise known.
