Juan Mata scare for Special One on Stamford Bridge
All eyes will be on Stamford Bridge this weekend for a cracker when Chelsea clash with Manchester United. The Blues are closing in on the League title but they have laboured to victory in recent games, giving optimism to their opponents. With injury plaguing top scorer Diego Costa, Mourinho will have to rely on old war horse Didier Drogba to lead the onslaught.
United on the other hand have come a long way. They have won their last six games, beating the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool along the way. Marouane Fellaini, Ashley Young, Ander Herrera, Michael Carrick and Juan Mata have all risen to the occasion, scoring 10 goals in those games. One man who will be under the spotlight will be former Blue Juan Mata. The Spaniard was sold to United for 37 million pounds last season and has been in good form as he returns to the Bridge for the first time. Will Juan prove the Special One wrong?
Leicester will aim for a third straight win to boost their survival hopes when they entertain Swansea at the King Power Stadium. It will be a huge game at Goodison Park as Burnley take on hosts Everton. A win for Burnley will take them out of the bottom three, depending on other results.
West Brom will be desperate to overturn a two-game losing run away to a Crystal Palace side riding high from their 4-1 win over Sunderland at Selhurst Park.
On Sunday, Manchester City will hope to close a potential seven point gap at home to West Ham at the Etihad Stadium. Like City, West Ham have not been the same in recent times following a huge loss of form which is threatening to drop them into the bottom ten. City’s form is so bad that their Champions League qualification is now under threat, with just four points separating them from 5th placed Liverpool. A win here could be the tonic they need to rediscover their form, as the Hammers have failed to beat City at the Etihad in as many games.
Newcastle United will be put to the test once again when they host Tottenham at the Sports Direct Arena.
